 SAMPLE DRESSES – Can I order sample dresses as my bridesmaids can't get to your showroom or store and do you send the sample dresses worldwide?

YES! You can order them from our website, its very simple

1 - order dresses online through our sample dress option
2 - dresses will get sent to you to try
3 - you have 7 days to try the dresses then please return (international customers have 14 days)
4 - when we receive the dresses back you will be issued a credit to use towards your final order
5 - once your samples are received and if you would like more options sent to you this is no problem, return the sample package with your returns form and we will send you a discount code to re-order more samples
6 - Maximum 3 samples at one time

If the style and size you want is saying 'sold out' please contact us directly via email or phone as we may have additional sizes samples that are not in our stock levels 

Colour Batches
Every effort and skill will be taken to ensure your chosen colour is best matched to the swatch you have been sent (if you choose to order fabric samples), however please note that when your final "made to order" collection arrives there can be up to a 10% variance in colour from the swatches you have been sent.  All our fabrics are hand dyed with love by a real human for each individual order

Do I need to order all my bridesmaids dresses in one order or can I order individually for each bridesmaid?
As we colour batch each order it is best to place your full and final order together under one order number.  If you decide to place multiple individual orders then please notify us of the order numbers that need to be combined for the same colour batching of the fabric

Do I send you my measurements?
No - all of our dresses “Made to Order" not “Custom Made” meaning all our dresses are made for you from stock sizes patterns that we do not make any alterations too. We offer our made to order collection in sizes 6 - 22 

Can you send me the dress measurements?
Our dresses are extremely true to New Zealand & International sizing and we strongly recommend you order your size based of the size you would normally be in your home country rather than going off pattern measurements. For example, if you are usually a size 10 in dresses, we suggest you order a size 10 from our range (based off New Zealand sizes)

In the past we have sent the measurements to customers and they have measured themselves incorrectly and ordered the wrong size.  If you do want the measurements, we can provide them to you however we do advise against it 

Can you alter the pattern, ie make the straps thicker or the dress shorter?
No - We do not offer the option to alter any of our patterns, however If alterations need to be made you will can easily do this with a local tailor at your own cost and we suggest you order "additional fabric" when placing your full and final order

Can I order fabric or extra fabric?
Yes you can - we strongly suggest you order 1-2 meters minimum as a form of "insurance" if any alterations need to be made

In the past we have had bridesmaids order sizes with the intention of loosing weight or we very often get bridesmaid's who unexpectedly get pregnant.  Sometimes things don't work out as planned and if you have additional fabric you can solve most issues

The minimum order of fabric is 1 meter @ $30 NZD per meter for Matte Fabric or Satin Fabric @ $40 NZD per meter and the fabric width is 110cm

Please order fabric at the same time as your final order to ensure it is from the same colour batch

Are your dresses lined?
Some style are (not all styles), please refer to the description of each style on the website

The styles that are not lined can have lining added for an additional charge, however the lining may effect the fit and drape of the style you choose. Occasionally a better option is to wear a slip underneath

Can I wear normal underwear with your dresses?
We suggest you wear a strapless bra and a seamless underwear style of choice

The lighter the colour of dress the more transparent they can be (if not lined) so nude underwear may be required or you may need to purchase a nude slip dependant on your own personal choice and comfort

What are the payment arrangements
All orders must be paid in full at the time of ordering

What fabric are the dresses made out of?
Our bridesmaids collection is made from Rayon or Viscose - both are natural fibres that drape beautifully and are very breathable. Please note our satin fabric is made from a natural fibre and drapes and breaths beautifully.  Traditionally satin is made from man made fibres and doesn't breath well but we have eliminated this issue by using a natural fibre

Do your dresses shrink?
No - All of our fabric is pre-washed and pre-shrunk prior to cutting and sewing to avoid this ever happening

Is the matte fabric better than the satin? 
Both fabrics are made from natural fibres providing fantastic drape and breathability, the choice of what fabric you goes for is down to personal preference for look and colour.  We have found the satin weave is slightly more restrictive and firmer therefore creating a slight tighter fit than the Matte weave and if you are in between sizes we do suggest sizing up in the satin to avoid size issues

Does the satin fabric build static & show lumps and bumps?
No - because both fabrics are made from natural fibres this allows the satin fabric to drape beautifully to the body

Do your dresses crease? If so, how do you get the creases out?
Natural fibres tend to crease more than synthetic however if you give them a good steam or a press before the bridesmaids wear them this will reduce the issues

All our dresses are pressed with an iron before leaving our factory.  Because we only use natural fibres, when your dresses arrive they may be slightly creased due to transportation, however all our dresses can be ironed on a cool setting  

Can I steam my bridesmaids dresses? 
A cool iron is preferred over steaming as sometimes steamers can leave water marks, however a steamer is fine if you are careful

Can you make a custom colour?
Yes we can – this process takes 8 weeks longer and cost an additional $50

Fabric Samples - Can I get these?
Yes you can purchase fabric swatches in either Matte Fabric or Satin Fabric for the cost of $15 NZD for up to 5 colours.  You can purchase the sample fabric from our website

What sizes do you make?
We make standard sizes from size 6 – 22 in all styles (NZ, UK,Aus) See size conversion chart for other countries

If your bridesmaids is outside size bracket we can supply you with additional fabric so you can make a dress locally out of the same fabric/colour batch

Is it possible to return and change sizes if the sizes I receive do not fit? 
No - As the dresses are made to order especially for each bridesmaid order we cannot exchange or refund if the size you have ordered does not fit

We strongly suggest you order additional fabric so if any alterations are needed to be made you have extra fabric available

I do not know what size I am to order? 
If you are not 100% confident of what size to order we strongly suggest you order the size up and then it is much easier to make any alterations needed to ensure the dresses fit your bridesmaids perfectly

Do you sell your bridesmaids dresses internationally? 
Yes -  We have regular international orders

Please note if your delivery is outside of New Zealand you are liable for any international import duties, customs & local sales taxes levied by the country that is in your delivery address

These taxes and duties may need to be paid in order to release your order from customs on arrival into your country and Evolution Clothing Limited takes no responsibility for these charges

I am overseas, do you do over the phone or zoom consultations? 
Yes - If you cant make it one of our stores or you are an international customer, enjoy a viewing from your living room

I have a bridesmaid that is pregnant?
This happens a-lot and we have many styles that suit pregnant bridesmaids. We suggest ordering 1 - 2 sizes bigger and ordering additional fabric

The styles we suggest for pregnant bridesmaids are:

Do I need to order all my bridesmaid dresses at the same time?
YES -  It is best to place one order for all dresses to ensure all dresses are made from the same colour batch otherwise there can be up to a 10% variance in colour between batches as this is a hand dyed process

We do keep a record of the colour batch that your order was made from so if you need to order an additional dress we can match as best as possible

Do you have stock available in your Mt Maunganui store / showroom?
Our collection is made to order meaning when you place your order, then the production process starts.

We do make occasionally have a bridesmaids style for sale in our store collection or samples for sale. Please contact directly if you would like to know what we have in stock. styles and sizes will vary from day to day depending on what gets sold

How long will my order take to make?
Please allow 8 - 14 weeks. Express orders can be processed faster than this timeframe for an additional fee.  Please search "express" in our search bar to add this to your order

What if my order is needed sooner than your delivery time frame or  urgently?
Any orders that are required sooner than our regular delivery timeframe will be required to pay an additional 'express fee' of $100 NZD per order.   If you would like to look at this option, please contact hello@evolutionbridesmaids.com or phone our office on +64 7 572 2410 to confirm we are able to meet your delivery dates prior to placing your order.

Can you make ties for the men in the same fabric & colour as my bridesmaid dresses?
Yes you can get these made, however we do not produce them - we can supply the fabric so that you can take it to a local company in your town

We suggest you order 40cm of fabric per tie (minimum order of fabric is 1 meter). Please try and order the fabric at the same time as ordering your dresses otherwise there can be a colour variation between batches

Do the colours look different on my computer screen to real life?
Every effort has been made to ensure that the product colours shown on the website/internet are as close as possible to the actual colours. However different computer screens may show slight variations and we can not accept refunds or exchanges if you feel the colour you receive is different to the colour you saw on your computer or device.  

To avoid this issue, we suggest you purchase a colour sample prior to placing your final order

What size does your model wear on the website?
We always photograph our model wearing a size 8 

Are the colours true on the real wedding's you post on your social media pages?
All the images that get sent to us from brides have already been edited by the photographer that took the images and the colour may not be true.  We would suggest if you see a colour you like from one of our "real wedding" photos that you order fabric samples from us before placing your order

Where are your dresses made? 
All our clothing is designed in New Zealand and made in Indonesia by an amazing talented skilled team - please refer to our about us & ethical conditions for more information 

Do you offer discount for bulk orders?
Sorry, we do not offer any discounts on our 'Made To Order' collection as we have already kept our prices as competitive as possible for you 

Do you rent your dresses?
No - this is something that we don't do intentionally so it gives you, the customer, the first opportunity to sell or rent the your dress/dresses out and to get the most use out of your dress

My bridesmaid is planning to lose weight, should she buy a smaller dress?Weddings are a fantastic motivation for anyone to lose weight, we do however suggest to order in you BM’s actual size at the time of ordering. That way if she does lose weight you can take the dress to a company that specialises in alterations closer to the wedding date  to get it altered to fit her perfectly

How many meters fabric do you recommend to make a dress with a local tailor? 
We would suggest a minimum of 3 meters however it might be best to check with the dress maker who would make it for you first

All our "Made to Order" Collection is shipped via DHL which will cost $30 NZD flat fee worldwide, per delivery address per order 

An additional $30 NZD fee will apply to any remote/rural delivery addresses. If you need to pay the additional remote/rural fee you will be contacted by one of our consultants and payment will need to be made before we despatch your order

Our fabric swatches take 6-12 days to deliver and will be delivered either via Fastway Couriers or DHL

Duties & Taxes

You are liable for any international import duties, customs & local sales taxes levied by the country that is in your delivery address

These taxes and duties may need to be paid in order to release your order from customs on arrival into your country and Evolution Clothing Limited takes no responsibility for these charges

Terms And Conditions:
• Dresses are "Made To Order" and stock colours take approximately 8-14 weeks
• Every effort has been made to ensure the product colours shown on the website/internet are as close as possible to actual colours, however, different computer screens may show slight variations and we cannot accept refunds or exchanges if you feel the colour you receive is different to the colour you saw on your computer screen
• Customers must pay in full before we process your order
• If the order has multiple dresses then all dresses must be ordered at the same time to ensure that all dresses are made from the same colour batch
• There can be up to a 10% variance in colour from the colour you have seen in store/sample received to production delivered as all our fabric is hand dyed and hand made therefore a 100% match can never be guaranteed
• No refunds and exchanges of custom made orders. No custom orders can be exchanged for shop stock 
• Choose your sizes carefully as once your order has been made we can not exchange sizes
• Custom orders do not qualify to go towards our evolution loyalty scheme. Our loyalty scheme is for shop stock only
• We do not alter or adjust any of our patterns
• Additional fabric can be purchased only if you are already ordering dresses with us. The cost for additional fabric is $30 per meter and the width is 110cm. Fabric must be ordered at the same time you place your dress order to ensure the fabric is from the same colour batch
• If you require fabric samples to be sent, there will be a sample fee cost of $15 to be paid
• All "Made To Order" dresses will have a $30 freight fee applied to each delivery address, any rural/remote delivery address will have an additional $30 delivery free applied to their order
